[Monalytix] Journaling Month #2

[Monalytix] Journaling Month #2

In the last post I talked about how I have been using AI, and what challenges I have been facing, vis-a-vis loosing direction. I was also concerned about affecting my critical thinking and only creating an illusion of learning while nothing actually sticking to my mind. I felt a need to make improvements to it.

The way I was taking notes was not helping either. Too many learnings, too many concepts and way too many commands, and
I used one physical notebook, and MS OneNote. It was becoming both confusing and overwhelming.

So I decided to invest in a framework. Physical Notebooks for each department. If Monalytix was to take shape as a company what departments would it have? I created those many notebooks.

As I was sticking the labels and defining what each notebook would contain, I felt a sense of relief already. Having outsourced my memory outside, my brain left light.  It was just the right investment I was overthinking. [I also realised that Investing in processes in becoming increasingly crucial, even if it looks like extra work]

Another investment of time, that happened well this month was the way I decided to process AI-generated information.

I asked AI to generate a series of responses on particular topic. Then I spent about a week implementing,
experimenting with, and understanding those responses. Keeping a second chat window open for cross-verifying, asking some follow-up questions, and clearing doubts helped to keep the original stream of responses remain uninterrupted. Once I was done learning and building the initially decided task, I went through the responses a second time, taking notes that combine what AI explained and what I actually experienced while learning and implementing it.
This proved to be extremely powerful and fulfilling way of learning. It felt like making write custom text-book for me and then reading it. This approach not only significantly accelerated my learning, but it also brought together theoretical understanding, practical experience, and actual execution.

Using this method, I ended up cementing the following concepts in my brain [I took reference of a product I was already building to generate AI responses] 1. Building an end-to-end react web application with supabase.
2. Deploying a web app by configuring an entire CI/CD pipeline
3. Configuring logging framework, centralised reporting system.
4. Configuring Monitoring and Incident Management Framework 3. Building an basic android application.
4. Deploying an android app on phone. So this month has been quite wonderful.

However, today I having have a few moments of doubt and felt the urgency to reach the goal as soon as possible, hence I just started writing this post to just calm my nerves.
Looks like it worked. :)
I just need to continue doing my part, and trust the process and God within me.

Happy Building!
